where to go - what to see - what to do
From the sprawling Brenne marshland and the splendid Valley de L'Indre to the majestic châteaux at Valencay and Azay-le-Ferron the Indre combines flora & fauna with an architectural and cultural heritage.
Nohant is known for its famous writer George Sand who described the landscape as 'quiet and unpretentious'. Sand was also Chopin's mistress who came to live with her in the Chateau de Nohant for 10 years.
If you like good food and wine you won't be disappointed either.
