Ussel is a great base for exploring the many lakes, rivers and springs in the Haute-Correze. Activities include fishing, kayaking and exploration of the Gorges Chevanon.
Ussel itself is a medieval town with a rich cultural heritage. 15th-16th century houses nestle alongside St Martin's church and its Romanesque apse. There are also some noteworthy castles nearby such as Chateau de Saint Dezery.
